The Vegetable Nannies

A strolling interactive performance

Meet the Vegetable Nannies and their precious home-grown charges.

The Vegetable Nannies are two everyday gardeners who’ve taken their young vegetables out of the ground for a day trip. If you see an old pram brimming with some beautiful bouncing baby vegetables, come over and say hello. No doubt the Nannies could use a hand in feeding and taking care of the little family that includes Jessica, the Sweet-Potato beauty queen & Babs the down-hill racing Watermelon.

'Who doesn't love the Vegetable Nannies? An absolute pleasure to work with, Plunge Boom produce magical, imaginative and family friendly street theatre at its very finest, truly understanding the Back to Ours ethos of bringing world class arts to communities in Hull – Right on your Doorstep. Charming, funny and beautiful; go and see them near you if you can!’

“Let’s Grow”

This short film features the Vegetable Nannies in their Allotment. “Let’s Grow” is our new educational resource for EYFS that we’re currently piloting in schools and nurseries in the North West. With it’s live video call format, this film starts the “Special People” module and is accompanied by a suite of additional resources for teachers to utilise.
