Plunge Boom was established by Ben Faulks in 2006 as a vehicle to develop performances that were interactive and mobile. Ben comes from a background of devising and performing for black box theatre and has produced shows for touring on regional, national and international levels.

 

The Vegetable Nannies was a commission from ‘Fresh’ to be first performed at South Hill Parks’ Big Day Out, 2006.

 

The Microscopic Animal Enthusiasts was a commission from BBC Springwatch, co-created with Jonathan McGrath for the 2006 ‘Springwatch’ event in Manchester.

 

The Trolls Kitchen was presented as a work-in-progress for BBC Spring watch in Manchester, 2007 before being commissioned by Lakes Alive in 2009, www.lakesalive.org

 

In 2007 Ben expanded Plunge Boom into a company with Jonathan McGrath, Terrence Mann, Julia Rounthwaite, Chris Lindon  and undertook the ‘Space Time Tools Advice' residency with IOU Theatre. That year also saw Plunge Boom supported by the Street Arts Consortium, Without Walls and receive representation by Fools Paradise.
